A classic British mystery. I bought this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Two detectives are sent on an unimportant, senseless task to cover a suicide. You feel their boredom but puzzles crop up. They uncover information that their superiors ignore. Why? This is an intriguing story that keeps you involved.

There is a touch of romance, nicely done and not overplayed. So many books nowadays have fine plots, exemplary characters but the writing style has been dumbed down to short sentences, short words and very little depth, as if the reading population is barely literate. This is not the case here. I really liked the writing style...well written with a lot of depth. Recommended reading for mystery fans.
